Boys swimming
The Islanders senior set two records in the prelims, then eclipsed those marks in the finals. He clocked a time of 1:36.77 in the 200-yard freestyle and 43.65 in the 100 free in the championships.
University City
Girls swimming
Clocking a time of 1:58.69, the Cal-bound senior lopped nearly a full second off her own section record to triumph in the 200-yard individual medley. Her previous best, set a year ago, was 1:59.63.
Boys swimming
Torrey Pines
Roaring to a section-record time of 47.50 in the Division I 100-yard butterfly, the Princeton-bound senior dominated. He also led off the Falcons’ 200-medley relay team that set an all-time section best of 1:31.91.

Girls badminton
After finishing second a year ago, the Komets senior captured the girls’ title, 21-11, 21-14, at the Balboa Park Activities Center. She also helped win the girls doubles, teaming with Sydney Phu, 21-17, 21-12.

Playing with partner Mia Compas, the 11th-grader helped the No. 1-seeded Dons top No. 2 Torrey Pines 4-1 in the section championships, defending their Division I title at San Diego Mesa College.

Having to battle back after splitting the first two matches against Torrey Pines, the Dons rallied to sweep the next three matches, recording the 4-1 victory while defending their section championship.
