Avon’s Josh Harter scored the lone goal as the River Hawks downed Dansville 1-0 in the Section V Class B quarterfinals.

DANSVILLE — Josh Harter scored off a pass from Trevor Stroud with 10 minutes left on the clock as the No. 5 Avon River Hawks pushed past the No. 4 Dansville Mustangs 1-0 in the Section V Class B quarterfinals on Saturday.

“It was a phenomenal team effort with our experienced nucleus leading the way and six freshmen also giving great minutes,” Avon head coach Anthony Patti said. “This is the fourth straight year that our team has made it to at least the semifinals with this year stepping up to Class B.”
