NHL Blast on Roblox to include goal recreations for Stanley Cup Final
On the heels of the NHL Blast on Roblox launch from April 27, and for the Stanley Cup Final, the league is introducing 3D goal re-creations in NHL Blast on Roblox for every goal scored during the Final created from NHL EDGE data (Puck and Player Tracking technology).
You can check out a 3D goal re-creation of Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Zach Whitecloud's goal from Game 1 here.
Built with leading metaverse development studio The Gang and virtualization specialist Beyond Sports, 3D goal re-creations bring fans closer to Stanley Cup Final games than ever before. Fans can select individual goals to immerse their Roblox digital avatars in the amazing speed and skill of NHL Players all while taking pictures of the goal developing from a variety of angles. 2023 Stanley Cup Final 3D goal re-creations can be experienced on desktop and or mobile devices.
"The introduction of 3D goal re-creations in NHL Blast furthers our commitment to use innovation to engage with new and existing fans - especially during our biggest event of the year, the Stanley Cup Final," said David Lehanski, NHL Executive Vice President of Business Development and Innovation in a statement. "After years of investing in NHL EDGE technology, we are continuing to uncover ways in which the data can create entirely new fan experiences for younger audiences and showcase elements of our great game in entertaining ways."
The new goal re-creations use the same NHL EDGE data and Beyond Sports virtualization technology leveraged by ESPN and Disney Channel for the "NHL Big City Greens Classic," the first-ever live, animated NHL game telecast, which featured the Washington Capitals vs. New York Rangers on March 14.
